With your health and safety as our number-one priority, we apply the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square. Following President Ramaphosa’s speech on Sunday 15 March, increased cleaning and hygiene protocols have been implemented, including increased frequency of cleaning cycles. Simultaneously, we have instructed all our retail partners to place the same stringent measures to ensure the safety of shoppers, tenants and staff. Information detailing the various additional precautionary measures have been displayed throughout the malls and on our social media channels, as a means to further educate all shoppers, tenants and employees.
With these new stringent measures in place, we have instructed all retail partners, including essential services tenants, to contact Centre Management immediately should they become aware of any confirmed cases of COVID-19. Centre Management will then work in tandem with the retail partner and relevant health authority to offer every support needed from communicating this to the public, tenants and employees, and additional deep cleaning within the centre.
As recommended by the World Health Organization and local health authorities, we remind customers to:
· Wash hands regularly, using soap and water, or hand sanitizer.
· Sneeze and cough into your arm only.
· Seek your doctor’s advice if you have flu-like symptoms.
· Avoid contact with anyone who displays cold and flu-like symptoms.
· While visiting the mall for essential services only, please remember to maintain a two-metre distance from other shoppers.
On the recommendation pertaining to social distancing and on the basis of the prohibition of large gatherings and events that draw crowds, we wish to advise you that events and activations that were due to be hosted at the mall have been cancelled and/or postponed with immediate effect.
For the coming three weeks, we will be adhering to the President’s national lockdown instructions, but let us all remember that the 21st Century has us all connected thanks to technology, and we remain connected and online daily. Please visit our social media channels for regular updates on essential services tenants and trading hours.
